This policy follows the name, phone number, email address, town and project notes a homeowner types into our ADU estimate quiz or contact form, from the moment of sending onward. Those details let us call back, book a visit to the lot, price the unit and carry out the job, they are stored in our customer-management system, and they are never sold.

The consent box covers our calls, texts and emails about that request, and replying STOP ends the texts. No analytics, pixels or tracking cookies run here, and [email protected] is where to ask for your record to be shown, fixed or erased.

Effective November 1, 2026. Last updated November 1, 2026.

This page traces the details you hand ADU Builders Bangor on this website: what we gather, the reasons, the outside services that touch them and what you may ask of us.

Who We Are

We are an ADU builder, putting up detached ADUs, garage ADUs and in-law apartments in the Maine city of Bangor and in each town whose center lies within 15 miles of it. Our office is on State Street in downtown Bangor, and this website is www.adubuildersbangor.com.

What the Forms Collect

Your answers stay on your screen until the last button of the quiz or the contact form is pressed. A form you walk away from halfway sends us nothing, and neither form saves your answers on your device.

  • Your contact details: full name, phone number and email address.
  • Your project: on the quiz, the town, the kind of unit you pick and any closing notes; on the contact form, the project type, a rough budget and your message.
  • The sending: the consent tick, which page held the form, and the date and time.

What you tell us on a phone call, and what we note on the visit to your lot, joins that record. Hire us, and the same record later carries our written price, the signed agreement and each bill we send.

Separate from the forms, the company hosting the site logs every page request, as web hosts do, with the visitor's IP address, browser and the page asked for.

Plans and Photos You Send Us

Homeowners often email us a lot survey, a septic design or photos of the yard and the garage. Those files join your record, and we use them only to plan your unit and put a price on it.

We never post them on this website or anywhere else, and they go no further than the services named on this page.

What We Use It For

Your details do three jobs for us, and nothing more:

  • replying to your request and setting a time to walk the lot and the house
  • putting a price on the unit, then building and invoicing it if you sign
  • staying in contact about the work by phone, text or email, within what your consent on the form covers

We never sell or trade your personal information, and we never hand it to anyone for their own marketing. We also send you nothing about any project other than the one you asked about.

Who Else Handles Your Information

Four kinds of outside service handle some of your information along the way.

  • Our customer-management system receives each form and keeps call records and the notes our team writes about your project.
  • Our phone service connects calls and texts, and notes from a call land in your record.
  • Email providers carry and store the messages between us.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site, keeps that request log and forwards our mail.

Each town map draws its pictures from OpenStreetMap's servers, and those servers see your IP address. The contact page also offers a Google Maps link for directions, and whatever you do there is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

The law can compel us to hand information over, by subpoena, court order or otherwise, and we would comply. We would also release it where a person's safety or our legal rights were at stake.

There is one consent box on each form, empty at the start, and no request goes through until it is ticked. On the quiz, a short line beside the box opens the full authorization in a window; on the contact form, the full text is printed next to the box.

With the tick, you allow ADU Builders Bangor, its team members and its assistants to email, text or phone you to verify the request and what it says, Do-Not-Call listing or not. Follow-up on the request is covered too, automated calls and texts among it, and no purchase from us ever depends on giving it.

Where you browse sections of our site that concern home service providers, real estate agents, contractors or builders, that permission covers them too. If you would rather not consent online, phone us instead and we will take the request on the call.

Texts and Calls

Our texts are only about your estimate request or your ADU job, such as setting the visit or letting you know where the work stands. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies by project.

  • Reply STOP at any time and our texts stop, after one message confirming it.
  • Reply HELP to get help, or email [email protected].
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.

Calls can end too: say so while we have you on the phone, or email us, and your number comes off our calling list.

Our AI Receptionist

An AI receptionist may answer when you call us, and it says so near the start of the call. It writes down who you are, how to reach you and the unit you describe, and a short summary goes into your customer record.

Cookies, Tracking and Analytics

This site runs no analytics software, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. It stores nothing in your browser, and both forms work with cookies switched off.

OpenStreetMap, the map service named above, may place cookies that follow its own rules. You can turn cookies off or wipe them in your browser whenever you choose.

How Long We Keep Records

We keep a request while you and we are still discussing the ADU. Once you are a customer, your file may outlast that, for as long as a contract, tax law or another legal duty requires.

Keeping Your Details Safe

Access is limited to the services this page names and to our own people who need the details for your ADU. Nothing online is beyond a breach, ours included, and we will not pretend otherwise.

If a breach ever touches your personal information, we will notify you the way Maine's breach notice law lays out.

Seeing, Correcting or Deleting Your Details

You can ask us for any of these:

  • a copy of what we have on file about you
  • a correction of anything wrong or out of date
  • removal of your information, apart from what a contract you signed or the law makes us retain

Write to [email protected] or phone us using the number listed on our contact page. Before acting, we may check that the request truly comes from you.

Children

This site is written for adults planning a second unit on their property, and none of it is aimed at children. If we learn that someone under 18 has sent us their details, we delete them.

We link to public sources such as town ordinances, the Maine Legislature's statutes and state health and environmental agencies. Their privacy policies are their own, and this page does not reach them.

Changes to This Policy

When our handling of information or the law changes, this page changes with it. The date printed at the top marks the version in force.
